While winter typically dries out the Colorado air, the temperature swings can be quite dramatic. These temperature swings can cause condensation in enclosed spaces like a covered, winterized trailer. To help account for this potential moisture build up in the trailer I add DampRid.
DampRid uses the hygroscopic properties of calcium chloride to capture moisture from the air and trap it in a container. I place one DampRid container in the kitchen sing and another one in the bathroom sink. I place them in the sink so if I miss them in the first spring walk down prior to moving the trailer any accumulated moisture will go in the grey water tank and not all over the trailer.

By keeping the moisture down, it will reduce the chance of the trailer developing a musty, mildew smell over the winter. While I have not collected much moisture during the previous winters, this is still a cheap precaution to take for the winter.
