Even though we are already on our second set of tires in four years, something for another post, I fully expect tires to be replaced due to age instead of miles on our trailer. Tires age through exposure to oxygen, sunlight (UV light specifically), and heat. While in storage tire tire covers remove the exposure to sunlight and UV radiation. Protecting the tires from harmful UV radiation will help prevent blowouts due to degradation of the sidewalls.
We purchased Elements All Climate Double-Axle tire covers prior to our first winter from Camping World. The covers have been holding up very well. If there is interest in further reducing the heat exposure of the tires, a white cover may be preferable to the black covers we purchased. For convenience here is a link to Amazon’s Choice (2019) tire covers: ADCO 3923 White Double Axle Tyre Gard Wheel Cover.
