SWW To Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort

Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort is a nice private campground just outside of Colorado Springs. The sites are filled in with a very beautiful red and pink stone. Our site sat on a slight uprise. The campfire pit was down the rise and against a stone wall making for a unique an enjoyable experience.

We stayed at Mountaindale during mid-April and the weather was cold and drizzly. Which is not uncommon for that time of year. Having the camping area covered with rocks kept the area clean and free of mud.

With several families with young children, we utilized the recreation room in the main building to play games and stay out of the cold drizzle. While it is better to get outside and enjoy the 45 acre of mountain property; having this large room for a bunch of cooped up, rambunctious children under 10 was very nice.

The local attractions of Colorado Springs are all within driving distance. Being a little bit out of Colorado Springs proper provides a little closer access to the Royal Gorge Bridge and White Water Rafting on the Arkansas.

Where to go to Mass:

Since Colorado Springs is close to home, we normally get home in time for Sunday evening Mass. So, we have not gone to mass from Cheyenne Mountain State Park yet. However, Colorado Springs is the seat of the Colorado Springs Diocese and St. Mary’s Cathedral is easily within distance of the campground. We are looking forward to adding a visit to the Cathedral in one of our future trips.
